Overview

During your trip, you will experience the contrast between the colonial Calcutta, the snow-capped Himalayan giants Kanchenjunga and the lush green of Darjeeling, a dreamy little town nestled amidst tea plantations at an altitude of 2,100 m. The nature is exceptionally rich with its forests, a variety of orchids, green wide tea plantations and clear mountain streams. DAY 01: Calcutta (Arrival)

Your roundtrip starts in Calcutta. Upon your arrival at the airport you will be met by a representative of our agency and transferred to your hotel. After a rest you start with the city sightseeing in Calcutta. Let yourself be enchanted by the somewhat morbid charm of this city with its many faces and experience one of the most fascinating metropolises in the world and perhaps the "only functioning chaos in the world", the old barrels, old Rolls-Royce and modern vehicles, double decker buses and trams Characterize the streets as well as the business of the people. Overnight stay in hotel.

DAY 02: Calcutta - Bagdogra - Darjeeling (flight)

After a quick breakfast, get ready to transfer to the airport to board a flight to Bagdogra. Pick up and travel to Darjeeling. The afternoon is at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

DAY 03: Darjeeling

Post breakfast in the morning, get ready for excursion to enjoy the amazing sunrise view (depending on the weather conditions) at the Tiger Hill (2.590 m) which is one of the main attractions of Darjeeling. The drive to Tiger Hill takes you to a mountain 11 kilometers from Darjeeling, from whose summit you have a good view of the kanchenjunga massif (8.597 m). The subsequent visit to the Ghoom Monastery, one of the most important yellow-cap monasteries of this area, with a 4m high statue of Buddha Maitreya (future Buddha), gives you an insight into Tibetan Buddhism. Small excursion trip (if this is in operation) with the Toy Train (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway) would be the best part of your amusement. The train is one of the narrow-gauge piers of India, which the British built under incredible efforts of the workers. Since you are in Darjeeling, visit a tea plantation would be a wonderful moment in itself. In the afternoon visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute as well as the center of the Tibetan refugees (closed on Sundays). Later come back to hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 04: Darjeeling - Pemayangtse

Post breakfast in morning, commence your journey to Pemayangtse which is a beautiful landscapes with tea plantations and spectacular views. Upon arrival in Pemayangtse, check in to the hotel and take few hours rest. This city is located in the western part of Sikkim and offers breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga massif. In the afternoon visit the Pemayangtse monastery, built in 1705 and the second-most monastery in Sikkim. It is the home of the Nyingmapa Order, one of the most traditional riches of Tibetan Buddhism. Later come back to hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 05: Pemayangtse - Gangtok

Post breakfast in morning, leave for Gangtok, capital of the state of Sikkim. Upon Arrival, check in to hotel. Commence your day excursion with full of excitement. The city still offers the view of the traditional wooden houses, but due to the economic upswing numerous new buildings developed. The afternoon is at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel

DAY 06: Gangtok

Today, a full day tour of the capital of Sikkim and its surroundings awaits you. After breakfast, drive to Rumtek Monastery, also known as Dharma Chakra Center. The monastery belonging to the Kagyu Monastery, one of the most important Tibetan lines, houses some of the most important and holiest Tibetan Buddhist scriptures and religious objects. Then follow the Do Drul Chorten, a stupa from 1945 and the Sikkim Research Institute of Tibetology, a research center for Tibetology, one of the largest collections of Tibetan writings. In the afternoon visit the Cotton Institute and Enchey Monastery. Dinner and overnight at resort.

DAY 07: Gangtok - Kalimpong

Enjoy your today's trip to Kalimpong, the unspoiled landscape along the way will delight you alot. Kalimpong is a small, busy town on the foothills of the Himalayas and famous for its orchid and tree nurseries. In the afternoon visit the Durpin Hill, on the summit of which the Zong-Dog-Palri-Fo-Brong Monastery is structured. Take time to discover the market of Kalimpong with its colors and fragrances. Dinner and overnight in hotel

DAY 08: Kalimpong - Bagdogra - Calcutta (flight)

After breakfast in morning, get ready to transfer back to Bagdogra and fly to Calcutta. Here ends your round trip, which took you into the scenic Darjeeling and Sikkim. Stay overnight in hotel.

DAY 09: Calcutta (Departure)

Post breakfast, morning time is free for you own activities, thereafter checkout from the hotel and drive to Airport for your onward journey. Return to your place with great memory of India.
